Customization has always been at the heart of D-Sign Visual Advertising. For more than 24 years, this Geldrop-based company has been shaping spaces across the Benelux with distinctive designs for construction, real estate, and interior projects. When growing demand for larger, more intricate decorative elements collided with the limitations of their existing equipment, D-Sign turned to a trusted partner: Summa. The result? A leap in creative freedom and technical capability, powered by the new Summa F1625.
Diverse solutions in a fast-paced environment
Founded in Geldrop, D-Sign Visual Advertising has built a reputation for being “strong in customization.” Their work spans construction, real estate, interior décor, window foils, and car wrapping. Whether working directly with end users or collaborating with interior architects, D-Sign’s mission is clear: deliver creative, high-quality solutions that bring spaces to life.
For years, D-Sign relied on their Summa F1612 cutter, primarily for foil cutting. While the machine served them well, its size became a limiting factor as projects grew larger and more complex. At the same time, market trends shifted, with demand for felt-based decorative elements rising, and customers expected distinctive designs delivered quickly and reliably.
A lucky coincidence
Together with dealer Vink VTS, D-Sign went looking for the machine that would suit their needs. “They knew the F Series and we were looking at the F1832 together, but it didn’t perfectly offer what they needed in terms of size”, said Ton Van Berkel, account manager at Vink VTS. At the same time, Summa announced their F1625, which gave D-Sign the opportunity to discover it at FESPA Berlin. The F1625 offered the perfect balance of size and versatility for their workspace and material needs, from felt to PVC and beyond. With additional tools like the POT tool, D-Sign could achieve flawless results, time after time.
Expanding possibilities with the Summa F1625
The upgrade to the F1625 didn’t just solve size constraints; it opened doors to new creative opportunities. Felt cutting became a specialty, enabling D-Sign to meet growing demand for stylish, functional decorative elements. The extra tools provided by the F1625 added flexibility, allowing them to experiment and deliver on diverse customer requests, all while maintaining the precision and reliability they value. “It’s just a machine that opens up a world of possibilities for us”, says owner Stefan Houtakkers. “Larger formats, new materials, increased thickness, improving the speed of our workflow, using new tools. I can go on about it at length, but the most important thing is that the F1625 is a reliable partner for us to be creative in new ways for our customers.”
A partnership built on trust
D-Sign’s relationship with Summa goes back to 1997. Together with Vink VTS, Summa has offered quality and guidance to empower innovation and deliver quality. Ton Van Berkel agrees: “We’ve been in business with each other for so long, keeping a good open relationship based on approachability and trust.”
Looking ahead
D-Sign’s goal is simple: stay ahead of the curve. By investing in technology like the F1625, they ensure they can offer fast, reliable, and high-quality solutions to their loyal customers. As trends shift and projects grow, D-Sign is ready to keep pushing creative boundaries.
